Georgia Day is celebrated on February 12 and is a public holiday in the state of Georgia, United States. The colony of Georgia was founded in 1733 as the last of the thirteen colonies in America. It was founded by James Augiff, who wanted to create a safe place for the poor and prisoners from England, as well as for those who were forced to leave their lands.
